Parental Involvement
By Natasha Cox
The parents of English Language Learners face many challenges when parental involvement is needed to assist their child with the school’s curriculum in the classroom. These parents not only struggle with the content area their child is learning but also the language barrier. Many of these parents need assistance to facilitate them to help their children comprehend homework. This can be a difficult task for both parent and child. There are many programs and sites that are available to help parents to bridge the gap for English Language Learners. These sites are equipped with many strategy and information to help ESOL parents. If parents knew that there were resources out there to support them and their children this will boost their confidence. The websites that I have provided for these parents will help them along the way and get through the many challenges they may face. In addition to this they will foster the students learning and advancement in school.
